【Announcement】UTokyo GUC 2025 Application Now Available
The 2025 UTokyo Global Unit Courses (UTokyo GUC) offer students an excellent opportunity to experience the University of Tokyo and Japan. Detailed information about the program is available here.
These short-term intensive courses, taught entirely in English by leading scholars from UTokyo, span a diverse range of disciplines, including humanities, social sciences, and STEM. Additionally, Japanese language courses are available. Most courses are completed within one to two weeks, granting students Global Units and a certificate per course upon completion.
Program Period: Monday, June 16 – Monday, July 28
Exciting Updates for 2025:
Featured Course: a specially featured course on urban design in Tokyo, taught by architect Yoshiyuki Kawazoe, a professor of architecture. This course provides an immersive exploration of urban design through hands-on fieldwork in Japan’s capital.
New 2-Unit Courses: Designed to offer greater academic flexibility, these courses provide expanded learning opportunities and facilitate credit transfer for students enrolled at universities where such arrangements are supported.
Expanded Curriculum: New courses cover topics such as air transport systems, the universe, Japanese school education, robotics, and heritage studies in Japan.
Continuing Favorites: Popular courses from previous years will continue to be offered, featuring activities such as fieldwork, design workshops, hands-on projects, lab tours, and in-depth discussions, depending on the course.
The online application is now open until 16:00 (Japan Standard Time), Friday, March 14th.
